For many years, the tourist office has supported owners of tourist rentals, located in the town of Andernos, in their voluntary classification process (individual pre-visit and visit generally carried out by Gironde Tourisme).
Conditional extension of the classifications of hotels, tourist residences, campsites, residential leisure parks and holiday villages beyond December 31, 2021.
Under decree n°2021-1760 of 22/12/21 and in order to take into account situations which prevent operators from submitting their renewal request within the set deadlines, it is possible under conditions to temporarily maintain the classification of hotels, tourist residence, campsites, residential leisure parks and holiday villages at the end of its validity period.

These provisions are not applicable to the classification of furnished tourist accommodation, the exceptional extension of which ended on December 31, 2021.
Indeed, the ministerial classification has several advantages:
_ A tax reduction of 71% (instead of 50% for unclassified tourist rentals)
_ Enhancement of the quality of accommodation through a recognized classification
_ Possible affiliation with the national association of holiday vouchers (ANCV)
_ Recognition as a tourist rental, particularly within the framework of actions implemented by the tourist office (classification being a mandatory prerogative to become a partner of the tourist office and thus benefit from these actions)
The tourist office having the role of ambassador to its partners including rental companies, it seemed legitimate to now provide this service directly, in order to promote the quality of accommodation services in our territory.
To do this, an agent from the tourist office followed training “Preparing to be authorized to classify furnished accommodation”, led by MONA in March 2019.
Following an audit carried out by the “Certisud” firm last May, the tourist office is now an approved inspection body for classification visits to tourist rentals, for a period of 5 years.
This ministerial classification, which varies from 1 to 5 stars, is valid for 5 years. A grid of criteria, mandatory and optional, allows points to be counted with a minimum threshold to be reached.
The cost of the classification visit ranges between €180 and €350, depending on the accommodation capacity.
To date, in Gironde, only Gironde Tourisme, Gîtes de France and the Andernos tourist office are authorized to classify furnished tourist accommodation.
